Part of MFA exhibition in Art, Society and Publics.
The title comes from an autobiography by Edmund Gosse published in 1907 about his upbringing by a strict puritan father. In my work, a film documents a response to Andres Seranno's photograph "Piss Christ". It involves my father and my son in a performance and interview. The work investigates knowledge and interpretation as well as faith and belief. In this case how it is understood through three generations of the same family.
